Northern Gymkhana managed to overcome Arham CC thanks to a flurry of wicket-taking spells by their bowling attack.
Northern Gymkhana batted first and got off to a good start. They carried this momentum, despite some deviations, up till the last batsman for the innings, Rizwan Khan who scored a quick 41 runs off just 17 balls, remaining not out to give his team the advantage. Northern Gymkhana amassed a total of 179 runs despite a very game Arham CC bowling attack. In contrast, while Arham CC got off to a good and consistent start with most of their top and middle order scoring similarly and kept the scoreboard ticking, Gymkhana’s bowlers eventually unleased an onslaught that their batsmen simply had no answer to subsequently being all-out after having scored just 162 runs.
Faraz Ahmed Khan, Nadir Shan and Hammad Ayyub put on a bowling masterclass at the Naya Nazimabad Ground claiming 5, 3 and 2 wickets respectively having each bowled 4 overs. Arham CC simply could not stop Gymkhana from teeing off and were unable to reciprocate with their innings.
