In the second semi-final of the 3rd KK Super Sixes, group B winners Karachi Star came head to head with group D toppers OGS. The match, being played at the UBL Sports Complex, was an entertaining yet one sided affair.
OGS, after winning the toss, decided to bat first with opener Adnan Siddiqui scoring freely in the early part of the innings. His innings of 29 runs in 12 balls included 5 boundaries and 1 huge six. Teammate Talha Faheem played an equally brilliant knock of 31 runs in 9 balls, at a strike rate of 344 with 2 fours and 3 sixes to his name. Saad Samad and Daniyal Gigi were the strike bowlers for Karachi Star, picking up a wicket each for 10 and 17 runs respectively. OGS, at the 5 over mark, scored a massive 93 runs for the loss of 2 wickets.
Karachi star, chasing 94 runs at almost 19 runs an over, faced an initial setback when both openers were dismissed early in the innings by Raza Hassan. Nevertheless, Fahim Sheikhani scored 26 runs in 10 balls, with 2 fours and 2 sixes to bring his team back on track. However the OGS bowling unit turned out to be too strong for the Stars who were dismissed for 50 runs in 5 overs. Raza Hassan lead the bowling attack with 2 wickets for 7 runs while Umer Khan and Jasim Talash took a wicket each for 12 and 8 runs respectively.
OGS won the second semi-final by 43 runs.
