Okhai Friends CC v Eleven Stars
Okhai Friends CC batted first in the 1st match of the 4th Saleem Jaffrani tournament. Okhai opener Ahmed Sharjeel started things off on a positive note with his fiery knock of 42 runs. Despite losing his partner Mohsin for just 1 run, nothing could stop Okhai's momentum. Asim Imam was in the form of his life with a cracking innings of 118 runs off just 45 balls, including 10 boundaries and 9 maximums. Stars bowlers were helpless against the onslaught, unable to pick wickets when required or stop the flow of runs. Noman and Abdul Samad picked up 2 wicket each for their side. Minor contributions by the rest of the batsmen propelled Okhai Friends CC to set a target of 240 in 20 overs.
With a mammoth total to chase, Eleven Stars were at a severe disadvantage. Openers Muhammad Danish and Abdul Basit did well to get their team off to a reasonable start, scoring 35 and 22 runs respectively. Wickets fell in regular intervals however and once Zaid Khan was dismissed for 30, the team simply imploded. They lost 7 of their wickets in single digits with Okhai bowlers giving no room to score. Ahmed Sharjeel was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets alongside Mohsin Saleem and Imran Mohammadi who picked up 2 wickets each. Eleven Stars were bowled out for 136 runs in 19.3 overs.
Okhai Friends CC won by 104 runs.
