Omar CC Win Low Scoring Thriller

The second semi-final of the 1st Boulevard Mall Ramzan Tournament was contested between Omar Cricket Club and the Pakistan Air Force at the Hill Park Ground on Wednesday.

After electing to bat first, Omar CC were off to a shaky start, losing their top 6 batsmen cheaply, courtesy some outstanding bowling from the Pakistan Air Force team. Naseer Ahmad and Muhammad Amir were the pick of the bowlers taking 3 wickets for 22 runs and 2 wickets for 25 runs respectively. At one point it time it looked like that Omar CC were going to be dismissed at a low score. However Khushdil Shah scored a match winning 65 runs in just 42 balls to shepherd his team to a respectable total of 130 runs for the loss of 9 wickets.

The Pakistan Air Force team began their chase in a confident manner with both Shahbaz Jawed and Zeeshan Malik scoring 30 runs each in 29 and 18 balls respectively. However Omar CC fought back into the game with Bilal Javed and Saad Nasim taking 3 wickets a piece to tighten their grip on the match. It was Omar CC who held their nerve during the end stages of their match to dismiss the Pakistan Air Force team at 119 runs in 19 overs.
