Viper United v Viper XI- Khas & Viper- Semi Final
Viper United played against Viper XI at Asghar Ali Shah ground for the semi final of the Khas & Viper League. Viper United batted first and lost Mubashir, Ibrahim and Hamza very early while Faisal and Kashif followed suit after having scored just 7 and 5 runs respectively. Rehan Tahir however held the innings on one end scoring a valuable 40 runs and Khurrum with 14 runs added some semblance of stability to the innings. Asif Jawaid then took over the reigns with a fiery 40 runs off 26 balls to ensure that Viper United ended the innings at a decent 140 for 7 in 20 overs. For Viper XI, Sheraz, Qasim, Mubashir, Hammad, Shan and Usama took a wicket each and there was 1 run out.
The reply from Viper XI was very disappointing as they struggled to come to terms with the two paced pitch and Viper United bowlers utilized the cracks in the pitch to their advantage as they spun the ball both ways and bamboozled the batsmen with their skill. Only Hammad with 17 and Yousuf with 13 reached double figures as the chasing side were all out for just 73 runs. Hasan Alam was chief destroyer with 4 wickets for just 5 runs while Asif took 2 wickets for just 7 runs. Ibrahim and Aleem also took a wicket each and there were 2 run outs.
Viper United cruised to the final winning by 67 runs.
