ZMCC batted first and lost an early wicket which put them under pressure quite early in the game. But after the loss Sami Ullah and Mubasshir Ahmed got together and formed a solid little partnership. Sami was in astonishing form and he smashed the bowlers around the park during his fluent 31 off 12 balls with 4 sixes and a four, Mubasshir gave him good company and scored 18 off 12. After those two, Sohail and Afzal propelled the score forward and scored 25 and 22 respectively. The bowling was also good from the Super Star bowlers and they maintained tight lines throughout the innings which kept ZMCC under check all the time. In the end, ZMCC posted 143 in their 1st innings.
In response, ZMCC came out all guns blazing and rocked the top order of Super Star CC. The top order gave a poor reading for Super Star as all top 3 batsmen were dismissed for single digit scores. The innings needed a big partnership to get back on track and it was provided by Shahrukh and Owais. Shahrukh played a second fiddle role and scored 18 off 22 balls but the hero of the match turned out to be Owais Ahmed who scored a brilliant 63 in this low scoring fixture, he faced only 40 balls and smashed 5 maximums and 2 fours to bring his side back in the game. There were tiny crucial contributions from the other end as well. After Shahrukh, Owais was accompanied by Faisal and Jahangir who scored 16 and 25 respectively. The late order flourish gave Super Star a very tight win as they won in 19th over with just 1 wicket remaining.
