TNN Titans v Benitoz Panthers
Defending Champions TNN Titans faced Benitoz Panthers in their first match of The 2nd ACM Gold t20 Night League at IBA Cricket Ground. TNN Titans were without their famous captain and very good all rounder, Owais Pasta as well as key opening batsman Shakir Serang. TNN lost Bilal Umer early for just 13 runs, Rabish Ahmed followed after scoring 14 and Yasir Tanveer was out for a duck. M Faizan and Idrees Amin with 32 runs each ensured the team reached a respectable 134 for 9 in 20 overs. For Panthers, Israr Ul haq was the main wicket taker with 3 wickets while Waqar and Umer Chawla got 2 wickets each and Saad and M.Kalwar got a wicket each.
The chase against TNN was not going to be easy given their good bowling strength and Panthers lost Tabish and Mudassir early after they had scored 9 and 14 runs respectively. Ishtiaq and Sumail Aziz had a partnership of 47 runs before Ishtiaq was out after having scored a sedate 32 runs off 43 balls. The require net run rate kept climbing higher but with wickets in hand, Saad Ahmed did what he does best and hit some exhilarating shots in his quick knock of 33 runs off just 16 balls not out which helped wrest away the momentum from TNN Titans and ensured that Panthers innings ended on a victorious note. For TNN Titans, Imran, Rabish, Khalid and Idrees got a wicket each.
