Benitoz Panthers v American Doors
Benitoz Panthers played against American Doors at IBA cricket ground as part of the 16th Challengers Cup. Panthers batted first and it was a classic display of team work as each batsman contributed valuable runs to keep the scoreboard ticking. Mohib got 27, Madni 18, Saqlain 17, Asad 16, Sumail 15, Moid 14 and Rameez got 11 runs. For American Doors, Naveed Ganatra was most successful bowler with 3 wickets for just 17 runs in 4 overs. Hammad got 2 wickets while Shahid and Bilal got a wicket each. Benitoz Panthers ended at 152 for 9 in 20 overs.
With a strong batting line up, it was expected that American Doors would chase the target easily. However, Mohib Ahsan and Madni Waqas Raja took 3 wickets each as did Umer Chawla while Asad Butt got a wicket to ensure that the strong American Doors batting line up crumbled in the face of some accurate line and length bowling. American Doors were all out for just 125 runs. Only Rabish Ahmed with 54 runs, Shakir Serang with 17, Majeed Pasta with 15 and Saad Gutta with 14 runs put up some resistance but none of the other batsmen were up to the task when it mattered and Benitoz Panthers won a crucial encounter in comfortable fashion.
