Parco Blues v Asia Petroleum
2nd Challengers Corporate Cup
Parco Blues batted first and had a tough day with the bat. The team lost wickets regularly, unable to gain stability or any kind of momentum. Openers Adil (28) and Rizwan (20) scored fiery cameos to set a decent foundation but the remaining batsmen simply came undone. Munawer Ali was the only other notable contributor for his side, scoring a much-needed 22 runs. Shakil Ahmed lead the bowling attack, taking 3 huge wickets and handicapping the opposition. Arshad Mehmood then caused further damage, taking 2 additional wickets and stopping the flow of runs. Parco Blues set a target of 149 in 20 overs.
Asia Petroleum were off to a terrible start in their chase and their luck never seemed to change throughout the innings. The team stumbled, unable to play the bowlers and simply threw away their wickets. Mohsin Ali and Umer Farooq were the key culprits, picking up 3 and 2 wickets respectively. They were well supported by the rest of the team who fought hard to defend the total. Misbah and Arshad scored 24 and 20 runs respectively and were the only batsmen who showed any intent in the chase. They were eventually bowled out for 126 in 20 overs.
Parco Blues won by 23 runs.
