Karachi Patriots played against Karachi Gladiators as part of the 3rd ACM Gold t20 Day League at Moin Khan Cricket stadium. Patriots won the toss and batted first and had a 100 run opening partnership as Faraz Ahmed got 36 runs off 24 balls and Tayyab Balagamwala was exquisite with 61 runs off 45 deliveries at a strike rate of 136%. Aamir Motiwala with 21 runs, Ayaz Bhesania with 24 runs and Adeel Abbasi with 29 runs ensured that the good start was fully utilized and the team ended at 211 for 6 in 20 overs. For Gladiators, Mohsin and Waleed took 2 wickets each while R Khan and Sami got a wicket each.
In reply, an in form Faraz Ahmed got two early wickets of Mohsin Khan and Rabish Ahmed while Adeel Abbasi kept things tight at the other end in the circle with 3 maiden overs and a wicket. Gladiator’s batsmen struggled in the face of some good bowling by Patriot’s bowlers and only Sami got 23 runs, Zohaib knocked 22 runs and Waleed Bilwani scored 12 runs as Gladiators ended at a low score of 92 runs for the loss of 9 wickets at end of 20 overs. For Patriots, other than Faraz and Adeel, Sameer Ahmedani and Rizwan Diwan got 2 wickets each while Afzal Gigi also took a wicket.
Karachi Patriots won by 119 runs.
