Karachi Patriots played against Benitoz at SKBZ Cricket Ground as part of the 7th Residence cup. Patriots won the toss and batted first. Tayyab R Balagamwala and Fahad Jabbar had an opening partnership of 58 runs after which Tayyab was out after having scored 30 runs off 19 balls. Aamir Motiwala followed soon, after having scored only 11 runs. Thereafter, Ghazanfar Richie and Fahad Jabbar lead the recovery building a partnership of 92 runs. Richie was out after having scored a quick fire 53 runs off 26 balls in an innings which included 4 boundaries and 3 sixes. Fahad continued to hit the ball to all parts of the park and was very unlucky to not get a century as he was run out at 98 runs off just 53 balls at a strike rate of 185%. Fahad hit 9 boundaries and 4 sixes as Patriots ended at 220 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. For Benitoz, Asad butt, Asadullah, Sumail and Muhammad got 1 wicket each.
In reply, Benitoz started off badly as Ahmed Arshad was dismissed without scoring in the first over by Faisal Butt. Subsequently, three quick wickets fell as Owais Pasta got rid of Asad Butt, Daniyal and Irfan Bhesania in quick succession. Sumail Aziz, however played aggressively and put up some resistance before he was out after having scored 57 runs off just 34 balls in an innings which included three boundaries and five sixes. While wickets kept falling, the last pair of Ahmed got 31 runs off 19 balls not out and Asadullah got 32 runs off just 16 balls but their efforts were in vain as Benitoz ended at 163 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. For Patriots, Owais Pasta got 3 wickets, Afzal Gigi 2 wickets and Faisal Butt, Fahad Jabbar, Tayyab Balagamwala and Rizwan Merchant got 1 wicket each.
