During the 1st Boulevard Mall Ramzan Tournament 2017, Rangoonwala Cricket Club faced the Dollar East Exchange Company, in a match that saw one team win comprehensively.
Rangoonwala CC, after opting to bat first, were off to a decent start with both openers being able to score freely. Imran Ali contributed 24 runs in just 12 balls, at a strike rate of 200 while fellow opener Asad Baig, played a responsible innings of 58 runs in 45 balls, to ensure that his team would put up a respectable total. Middle order batsmen Daniyal Ali, came out, all guns blazing, to score a rapid 44 runs in just 26 balls, guiding his team to a huge total of 195 runs in 20 overs. For Dollar East: Usman Qadir, Ilyas and Pakistan test player Muhammad Sami picked up 2 wickets each.
Dollar East started their chase in a hesitant manner, with their top 3 batsmen returning to the pavilion, without reaching double figures. However, Jahandad Khan took on the responsibility to try and lead his team to the target set for them. Despite that, he could only score 33 runs in 19 balls, at a strike rate exceeding 170. Khurram Humayun dominated the second innings with the ball, picking up 4 crucial wickets for just 17 runs in 3 overs to ensure his side would win comfortably. Dollar East ended their chase at 75 runs, with 7 overs to spare.
Rangoonwala Cricket Club won the match by 120 runs.
