Rangoonwala Cricket Club batted first and were off to a great start. Zakir Malik and Ahmed thrashed the bowlers at early stages of the innings and never let them settle in. Zakir Malik was in stupendous form, he smashed 49 off just 22 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes. Ahmed on the other hand, played a supportive role and scored 23 off 16 balls with 5 fours. The openers gave a perfect platform and after their dismissal the middle order propelled the score forward. Ghani Subhan scored 29 off 26 balls with 2 fours and made a vital contribution in the teams total. The innings was ended on a high note by Farhan and Nasir as they smashed the bowlers and scored some quick runs. Farhan scored 18 off 11 whereas Nasir scored 17 off 8 balls it helped Rangoonwala to score a big first innings score of 187 in their 20 overs. Hamza Sheen shined with the ball in hand and dismissed 4 batsmen for just 34 runs.
In response, Agha Khan were also of to a bright start with their openers putting up a great partnership to put their side on the right track. Saud scored 22 off 18 balls whereas Malik Ali score 42 off just 25 balls with 5 fours and 1 six. After a great start, Afzal propelled the score forward and kept scoring from one end but Agha Khan kept losing wickets at the other. Zakir and Fahad both picked up 2 wickets each to make life difficult for the batting side. Afzal remained unbeaten for 49 off just 34 balls but that was not enough for his side as Rangoonwala restricted Agha Khan to just 158.
