Meezan Bank and EFU General Insurance locked horns at Naya Nazimabad ground. Meezan bank batted first in this important encounter and Faisal Iqbal with 33 runs and Ammar Farooqui with 12 got them off to a good start. Afsar Khan then upped the ante with a belligerent 86 runs off just 33 balls at a phenomenal strike rate of 260% and he hit 6 boundaries and 8 sixes. Meezan Bank ended at 176 for 7 in 20 overs. For EFU General Insurance , Hussain, Tariq, Nadeem and Ahmed got a wicket each.
In reply, EFU General had a disappointing day in the field as only Ahmed Nawaz got 25 and Zaib Kamal and Abdul Wahab scored 10 runs each but none of the other batsmen could get into double figures and the whole team crumbled to 92 all out. For Meezan bank, the star of the show was Abdul Rasheed who got 3 wickets in 4 balls giving away no runs, while Iftikhar and Saleem took 2 wickets and Gohar and Akhtar picked up a wicket each.
Meezan Bank won by 84 runs.
