RG Sports Thump Dawaai.pk

Arguably the strongest team of the tournament, RG Sports went head to head with Dawaai.pk Champs during the 3rd KK Ramzan Super Sixes at the UBL Sports complex late on Tuesday night.

Batting first, Dawaai.pk were off to a shaky start, losing both openers cheaply courtesy  of some tight bowing by Khalid Khursheed who ended with 1 wicket for 5 runs in his spell. As the innings progressed, no real contribution could be made by any of the batsmen as they kept throwing away their wickets, dismissed in single digits. RG Sports were on top of their game with 3 key run outs and another wicket by Daniyal Ali. Dawaai.pk could only manage 27 runs in their 5 overs for the loss of 4 wickets.

RG Sports wasted no time and started their chase with both openers attacking their opposition. Wasim Ali entertained the crowd in a quick 7 ball knock of 17 with 2 fours and a six. Fellow opener Zakir Malik also scored 5 runs with the aid of 1 boundary. RG Sports chased the target of 28 runs in just 1.4 overs.

RG Sports won the match by 5 wickets, however, the rules of the tournament stated that teams could not field Grade 2 players that had played any match after 1st January 2010 and Zakir Malik had played in the 2011 season. RG Sports were therefore disqualified from the tournament.
