During Day 1 of the 3rd KK Super Sixes, being played under lights at the UBL Sports Complex, RG Sports came up against Al Hamza Sports, in a match that went down to the wire.
RG Sports opted to bat first, with opener Daniyal Ali scoring 26 runs at a strike rate of 200 with 4 fours to his name. Al Hamza Sports bowled well with Asif Izhar and Nadeem Khan taking 1 wicket each for 21 and 16 runs respectively. However, RG Sports batsman Ahmad rescued his team with a lightning knock of 15 runs with 2 fours and a huge six, at a strike rate of 300. RG Sports finished their innings with a competitive score of 73 runs in 5 overs.
Al Hamza Sports were off to a flying start with Deedar Anjum scoring a fantastic 31 off just 15 balls with 4 boundaries and 1 six to his name. Fellow opener Qureshi also played well to score 27 off just 10 balls with 3 fours and 2 massive sixes. But RG Sports refused to back down and were back in the game with 2 quick wickets and successfully managed to restrict Al Hamza Sports to 68 runs in their 5 overs.
RG Sports clinched victory by 5 runs.
