Rims Lions v Classic Barbarians
Classic Barbarians batted first in the 1st match of the 6th Memon Premier League. The team however struggled against the opposition with their batsmen unable to keep their wickets intact. Opener Fahad Jabbar was dismissed for 10 runs. His partner Ali Jiwani however paired up with Umair Usman to give their team a fighting chance with knocks of 31 and 37 respectively. After their dismissal however the team imploded with Lions bowlers dismantling the lower order cheaply. Rabish Ahmed lead the attack with 3 wickets while Idrees Amin, Hammad Sheikhani and Zeeshan Fattani took 2 wickets each. Classic Barbarians were limited to 127 for 9 in 20 overs.
Despite an early scare by Rabish and Ghazanfar being out for 6 and duck, Rims Lions comfortably chased down the target. Muzammil Mehboob with 49 and Muhammad Asad with 42 lead their side with ease. Barbarians bowlers were in effective despite Naveed Rangoonia's 3 wickets and Salman Dossani's 2 scalps. Eventually a cameo of 15 by Ali Iqbal helped Rims Lions to score 131 runs in 18.1 overs with 5 wickets to spare.
