In a friendly encounter played at the SKBZ Ground, the Karachi Boat Club (KBC) came head to head against the UBL Funds team.
Batting first, UBL Funds were off to a decent start with opener Ehtisham Junaidi scoring a responsible 18 runs, with only 1 four to his name. However, the first innings witnessed some spectacular batting from Mubashir Ejaz, who remained not out at the end of 20 overs. His 45 ball cameo of 88 runs included 4 fours and 6 colossal sixes. Mohsin Hassan finished the innings on a high, scoring 37 runs in 25 balls, with 3 fours and a six. For the KBC team, Muhammad Ali Haleem took 3 wickets for 44 runs while Ahsan Wali scalped 2 wickets for 27 runs. UBL Funds, at the end of 20 overs, finished at 177 for the loss of 5 wickets.
KBC started their chase on a high, with both openers dispatching the ball to all parts of the ground. M Arshad scored a rapid 58 runs in only 36 balls, with 5 fours and 3 sixes. However, it was S. Zahid Hussain who stole the limelight, making 81 runs in 53 balls, in an innings that saw 9 boundaries and 3 sixes. The blistering opening start saw KBC race to a comprehensive win with 4 overs remaining. For the UBL Funds, Mohsin Hassan and Murtaza Shahid took a wicket each.
