In a friendly match played at the NED Ground, Samba Bank faced the PNSC, in what turned out to be a well contested match.
Samba Bank batted first and were off to a flying start with Mujtaba Mehdi belting the bowlers to all parts of the ground. His 20 ball cameo of 35 runs included 5 classy boundaries and set the tempo for the remainder of the innings. However, it was Faraz Taimuri who stole the show with his super batting, scoring a valiant 58 runs in 40 balls, with 3 fours and 2 sixes to his name. The pick of the bowlers for PNSC was Huzaifa, who scalped 3 wickets for 18 runs in his 3 overs. At the end of the innings, Samba Bank ended at a competitive score of 147 runs for the loss of 7 wickets.
PNSC started their chase in a hesitant manner, losing both openers for single figures. However the middle order duo of Kashif Khan and Umair Khan played well to score 28 and 21 runs respectively to try and give the PNSC team a chance to make a comeback in the game. Samba Bank however, continued to excel with the ball, Rao and Turab taking 2 wickets each for 13 and 1 run respectively. Thus PNSC could only manage 108 runs in the allotted 20 overs.
Samba Bank won the match by 39 runs.
