Southend Stallions v Southend Tigers
Southend Stallions batted first putting up an all round strong performance with the bat. Opener Sameer and Mukhtar got the momentum going with knocks of 37 and 24 respectively. Anas, Asim, Abrar and Bilal did well to resist the Tigers bowlers and contributed valuable runs to keep the scoreboard ticking. Abdullah and Arshad were the most effective bowlers for their side, picking up 2 wickets each. Southend Stallions ended at 182 for 6 in 20 overs.
In response Southend Tigers were off to a dream start with openers Asif and Sami Afridi setting up a comfortable win for their side. The pair scored 46 and 75 runs respectively. However one the duo were dismissed, things seemed to take a turn for the worst with the team simply falling apart. None of the other batsmen were able to keep their wickets intact and capitalize on a magnificent start. Bilal, Mukhtar and Ammar took 2 wickets each with the Tigers ending at 175 for 6 in 20 overs.
Southend Stallions clinched victory by 7 runs.
