Athletic Club showcased another brilliant performance as this time they overcame Sparks with a polished all-round effort that was set up by their batswomen and finished off in the field.
Athletic club batted first and were off to a flyer as their openers were in scintillating form. They showed that why they are the most threatening side of this competition once again. The openers Huraina and Sana were in flawless hitting form as both smashed the bowlers all around the park during their blitz. It seemed that there was a competition going on between the two batswomen that who can score more. Sana Urooj scored 37 of just 14 and remained not out till the end and her opening partner Huraina was also not far behind as she pummeled 31 of just 16. The bowlers would like to forget this match quickly as they went for plenty. Athletic Club finished off their innings with a massive 90 runs without any loss of wicket.
Just like the first innings, Athletic Club dominated the second innings as well with their bowlers leading the opposition once again. The pressure was on Sparks from the outset, after losing the first match they wanted to come back strongly but their dreams were shattered by brilliance of Athletic Club. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals and never really got going, Sana Urooj after her fine batting performance, bowled well too. She picked up 1 wicket for just 4 in her only over. She was also declared woman of the match due to her all-round show which helped her side to thrash Sparks by 55 runs.
