A Group A fixture of the 17th Challengers Cup saw the Alliance Sports take on the FA Sports, in a match played at the Aga Khan Gymkhana Ground.
Alliance Sports opted to bat first and were off to a hesitant start, losing their top 4 batsmen early on in the innings. However, Shahzaib Jamil played a responsible knock of 66 runs in 64 balls, to lead his team to a competitive total of 149 runs, at the end of the innings. For the FA Sports, Salman Ali Khan was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3 wickets for 31 runs in his quota of 4 overs. Ali Waqas and Fayyaz Hussain Warsi also took 2 wickets each for 34 and 14 runs respectively.
FA Sports, requiring 7.5 runs an over to chase down the target of 150, took off in a similar fashion like their opponents, losing early wickets. However, Fayyaz Hussain Warsi continued his good form with the bat and scored a confident 48 runs in 44 balls to give some chance to his team. Despite this well-paced knock, the Alliance Sports bowlers dominated with Israr Ul Haq, Ahsan Lakhani and Talha Butt taking 2 wickets each in their respective overs. Hence, FA Sports could only manage 123 runs before being all out.
Alliance Sports won the match by 26 runs.
