ZamZam Sports v Gulshan Becks
A fantastic match of the KK Champions Trophy kicked off this past Sunday. ZamZam Sports batted first, losing opener Ali Haider early on for just 5 runs. His partner Kamran Rehman however carried the innings forward with a valuable knock of 38 runs. However it was Sheroz Sabir and Muhammad Faizan Khan who really came through for their side. With half centuries of 52 and 57 respectively at explosive strike rates of over 200, the pair changed the game around for their side. Mahmood Ali further propelled the team's target with a knock of 42 runs. Becks bowlers were unable to break their momentum with Zohaib Khan, Kamran Siddiqui and Zain Ali picking up a wicket each. ZamZam Sports set a target of 230 runs in 20 overs.
In response Gulshan Becks lost opener Sadiq for duck. With a mammoth target to chase, the team required a solid partnership to get back on track. Jibran Rufi helped the team recover well with his knock of 38 runs but it was Muhammad Mujahid and Ali Manzar who really gave their team a fighting chance. They scored 65 and 59 runs respectively and were well on the way to victory before Abdul Shakoor struck with the ball. The game turned on it's head when the ZamZam bowler took a hattrick and then went on to take 6 wickets to decimate the batting line up. Becks batsmen tried hard to fight back but were completely undone and eventually bowled out for 212 in 19.3 overs.
ZamZam Sports won by 18 runs.
