The final of the 3rd Qamar Ramadan Cricket tournament was played between Shameel Associates and the Fidato Cricket Club at the SKBZ Ground.
Batting first, Shameel Associates started their inning in an uncertain manner, losing opener Ameer Mukhtar for just 2 runs while middle order batsman, Rana Adrish was dismissed for 0. The Fidato bowlers were on top for most of the first innings, with Umer being the pick of the bowlers, with 4 wickets to his name. Furthermore, Rabish Ahmad and Ali took 3 wickets a piece to further add on to the pressure. However, Israr Ahmed and Umer Khayam played responsible innings of 28 and 31 runs respectively, sharing 4 boundaries and a six between them to guide Shameel Associates to a decent score of 142 runs in 20 overs.
Fidato Cricket Club began their chase in a confident manner with Waqas playing an important knock of 23 runs in 24 balls with 2 fours to his name. Middle order batsman, Ali also contributed with a solid 30 runs, in an innings that witnessed 2 boundaries only. However, like the first innings, the bowling side dominated with Ilyas picking up 4 wickets for 14 runs in his 4 overs, to ensure that Shameel Associates would come out victorious. Hasrat Ali also picked up 2 wickets in his quota of 4 overs. Fidato Cricket Club were bowled out for a below par total of 84 runs.
Shameel Associates won the match by a huge margin of 58 runs and were crowned Champions of the 3rd Qamar Ramadan Cricket Tournament 2017.
