Shan Foods v Adamjee Insurance- Semi Final
Adamjee Insurance batted first in the all important semi final of the 6th Challengers Corporate Cup. The team lost opener Nasir for duck and things did not get any better after that. Adeel Shamsi and Maqsood Ahmed ripped through the opposition, picking up 3 wickets each with only Jahanzeb and Usman showing some resistance. They each contributed valuable knocks of 47 to propel their side to a respectable 151 for 9 in 20 overs. Saad Kalia also took 2 wickets.
Shan Foods openers Shiraz and Abu Bakar made things look too easy. Knocking 62 and 44 respectively, the pair all but sealed a comfortable victory for their side. Eventually a cameo of 24 by Saad Kalia helped Shan Foods chase down the target in 16.3 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Adamjee bowler Rameez Mehboob tried to fight back with 2 wickets but it was too little too late.
Shan Foods won by 7 wickets and have a secured their place in the final.
