Abbott played went head to head with Siddiqsons group at the 14th Challengers Corporate Cup final. Abbott batted first and Irfan with 26 and Ejaz with 24 runs got them off to a good start but both batsmen could not capitalize on their innings any further. Haq nawaz was the highest contributor as he got 44 off just 32 balls while Faizan knocked 21 and Maqsoom got 20 runs to boost Abbott to a decent 160 for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. For Siddiqsons group, Imran and Aamir tried to contain the opposition with 2 wickets each while Abdul Samad, Abdul Hameed and Jawwad picked up a wicket each.
In reply, Siddiqsons group were off to a disastrous start as they lost Imran for 11, Haris for 15 and Abdul Hameed for just 8 runs. However, Jawwad ahmed remained undeterred as he hit a brilliant 63 off just 43 balls to bring his team close to victory with the finishing touches put by Abdul Samad who chipped in with 20 and Chinthaka who got an unbeaten 27 off just 15 balls as Siddiqsons got home with 3 balls to spare and for the loss of 5 wickets. Abbott bowlers fought hard but it was not their day though they brought the game close and put up a good fight but eventually Siddiqsons group emerged as the victors. For Abbott, Maqsoom was the star all rounder for his side picking up 2 wickets while Pervez, Adnan and Subhan got a wicket each.
