Skipper Ammar Does It For All-Stars

Karachi Defenders batted first against Karachi All-Stars in a friendly match. Opener Faraz Wahid Khan and Wasiq Abdul Wahab did not stick to the crease for long and got dismissed for 14 and 16 runs respectively. Suleman Khan’s 33 runs from the middle order was the highest score of the innings. The bowling side though containing the opposition with quite ease was not very good in terms of line and length. They bowled a total of 25 wide deliveries. Ammar Altaf from All-Stars was excellent with the ball picking up 3 wickets with an economy of 3 rpo. Hamza Ismail also picked up 2 wickets. The batting side was limited to 133 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 18 overs.

Karachi All-Stars could not get a good start as both the openers got dismissed for a duck and six runs. The middle order then took the responsibility and drove their team towards the victory. The most prominent batting figures from the second innings were Ammar’s 26, Asad’s 23 and Zahoor’s 20 runs. All-Stars chased the target for the loss of 7 wickets with three deliveries to spare. The bowlers of Defenders fought back hard and tried their best to grab the match but the target was already too low to defend. Sumair and Mudassir from Karachi Defenders were the highlight of the second innings bowling who picked up 3 wickets each.
