Super Daddy Cricket club faced Southend Tigers at the first match of the Southend Premier League this past Saturday. Batting first, the Daddy's were off to a disastrous start, losing opener Naeem for just 2 runs. Things did not get any better as the team lost wickets regularly, unable to gain stability at any stage of the innings. Mannan Khan and Shahzad Jumani were the two saviors for their side with fighting knocks of 20 and 40 runs respectively to help their team post a respectable total. Tigers bowlers did well to limit the opposition with Imran Malik, Abdul Qader and Zahid Paracha picking up 2 wickets each. Super Daddy Cricket Club set a target of 103 runs in 20 overs.

Southend Tigers were off to a rocky start in their chase losing 2 of their top order batsmen for just 1 run. However opener Sami Afridi carried his team with a valuable knock of 45 runs. With a low target on the board, contributions of 18 and 31 by Ali and Maaz helped their team comfortably get over the line. Daddy's bowler Salman Yaseen did well to pick up 2 wickets but the target was too low to defend. Southend Tigers chased down the target in 12.3 overs.

Southend Tigers won by 6 wickets.
