Royal Stars v Spartans United
Royal Stars batted first at KCCA this past Saturday. The team lost 2 quick wickets cheaply but opener Waleed Azim held the innings from one end with a sublime knock of 62 off 38 which included 10 boundaries. Shaheer, Umar and star batsman Naqash Balwani then propelled their side forward with scores of 23, 14 and 30 respectively. Spartans bowler Affan was outstanding in his spell, striking when most required. He took 4 wickets to break the oppositions momentum. Royal Stars ended at 183 for 8 in 20 overs.
Spartans United could not have asked for a better start! Openers Umar and Mukarrab scored 75 and 32 runs for their side to set up a comfortable victory. Waleed Azim and Hammad however kept making inroads, picking up wickets to try and stop the flow of runs. They took 2 wickets each. Eventually however it took a minor cameo of 16 by Faizy to get their side over the line. Spartans United chased down the target in 18.3 overs.
Spartans United won by 4 wickets.
