United Energy Pakistan Vs Summit Bank (4th Corporate Cup)
A brilliant opening partnership was enough to thrash United Energy Pakistan as Summit Bank beat them by 8 wickets.
United Energy Pakistan batted first and were off to a reasonable start as Shariq and Ulfat gave them a perfect platform with their fine partnership. They added more than 80 runs together and gave their side a solid beginning. Ulfat remained the top scorer with 58 which came of just 49 balls, he was batting so well but unfortunately had to retire hurt. His partner Shariq scored 30 of 19 balls. Once the openers were sent back to pavilion, Summit came back strongly in the game. Restricting the opposition and did not allow them to take charge. Even after a solid beginning United Energy were disappointed not to take advantage of it. Only one batsman got to double figures from rest of the batting lineup. Saeed Usmani was the chief destroyer with 4 wickets.
Summit Bank wanted just 143 runs to chase. And their openers made the total look so simple with their fine hitting. They were in a hurry and it seemed as if there was a competition between the two trying to better each other. Nadeem scored 60 of just 33 whereas Haseeb remained not out with his 61. The bowlers had no answer and the target was chased comfortably in the end only in 13.3 overs at the expense of just 2 wickets.
