What a moment for Super Daddy Cricket Club who won a tournament after 5 years at Al Nadil Burhani ground this past Saturday.
Batting first, Super Daddy were off to a flying start with Adeel Mansha and Rehan Shaikh taking the reigns. Adeel was in fine form contributing 44 off just 21 while Rehan Shaikh's 31 off 38 kept things ticking on the other end. A few wickets then fell with Boat clubs bowlers making inroads before Abid Malik stepped in to propel his side a very defendable 189 for 5 in 20 overs. Abid scored a fiery 59 off 31 and remained not out throughout the innings. For Boat Club, Ahsan Khan and Farhan took 2 wickets each.
In response, Karachi Boat Club lost Abdul Rehman cheaply for just 11 runs. Muhammad Arshad and Zahid Hussain then stepped up to stir their side to recovery with 33 and 46 runs respectively. Daddies bowlers however did well to keep the pressure on, picking up wickets regularly. Yasir Farooqui tried very hard to fight back with 44 off 36 and remained not out but the chasing side were never really in the game. Ali Amin was absolutely unbelievable in his spell, giving only 10 runs away to choke the opposition. Shehryar Qadir was also key in picking up 2 wickets. Karachi Boat Club were restricted to 134 for 4 in 20 overs.
Super Daddy CC won by 55 runs and are champions of the 3rd All Karachi League.
