JS Bank v IAL Smashers
IAL Smashers and JS Bank competed against each other at Al Mansoora cricket ground. Smashers batted first and got off to a good start as both openers got half centuries. Kami scored 59 runs and Ali Alvi contributed a valuable 63 runs. After their dismissal, other batsmen succumbed quickly to some good bowling by JS Bank, however, 20 runs by Rizwan and 12 runs by Rehan ensured that IAL Smashers ended at a competitive 186 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. For JS Bank, Zulfiqar and Tariq got 2 wickets each while Tauqeer got a wicket and there was 1 run out.
It was expected that JS Bank would give a strong reply as they have some excellent batsmen in their side. Their opener Tariq lived up to his reputation and scored 106 not out off just 60 balls and carried his bat to get his team over the finish line. He batted at a strike rate of 176% and hit 16 boundaries and 1 six in his innings. His partners in the successful chase were Zulfiqar with 41 runs and Shahid Ali with 24 runs not out. JS bank lost only 2 wickets, both of them being run outs as none of the Smashers bowlers were able to pick wickets. JS Bank chased down the target in 18.2 overs.
