Aqeel Combined v Super Star CC
A thrilling encounter took place between Aqeel Combined and Super Star CC at TMC cricket ground as part of the Alliance Sports League. Aqeel Combined batted first losing opener Ghazanfar for duck. Ahsan with 41 and Kashif with 26 then lead the recovery. Once the pair were dismissed Waseem and Noman tried to carry the momentum forward scoring 19 and 22 runs respectively on bowler friendly pitch. For Superstar CC, Huzaifa starred with the ball picking up 3 wickets while Shahzad took 2 wickets and Arshad and Aurangzaib got 1 wicket each. Aqeel Combined ended at 148 for 8 in 20 overs.
In reply, Super Star CC openers started well but could not get a big score as Faisal was out for 12 and Mansoor was dismissed after his cameo of 26 runs. Arshad with 34 and Shahzad with 16 brought in some stability but wickets kept falling at regular intervals. Superstar CC however were never out of the chase and 27 runs off 17 balls by Ali Shakeel and 10 by Sumair brought them close to the target but they could not cross the finish line as they fell short by just a trickle and ended at 146 for 8 in 20 overs. For Aqeel Combined, Noman and Kaleemullah picked up 3 wickets each while Najam got 2 wickets and Waseem took 1 wicket.
Aqeel Combined clinched victory by 2 runs.
