Red Pelicans batted first against Yellow Penguins at the Clash of Birds BMSF with their top order collapsing early on in the innings. Mustafa Habib and Abbas Ashraf then stepped up to try and save their side with knocks of 34 and 18 respectively. The team however could not build a partnership and get going at any stage, consistently losing their wickets. Yousuf Najaf knocked a handy 25 lower down the order as Red Pelicans ended at 138 for 8 in 20 overs. Penguins bowler Hussain Aqeel did well to limit the opposition, picking up 4 wickets in his spell.
In response, Yellow Penguins lost opener Mustafa Rainbow for 4 runs but their troubles ended there. His partner Shabbir Ali Kanch and one down Mustafa Hassan were in form and on fire, taking charges with impressive knocks of 67 and 41 runs respectively. Mohammad Sitamu also joined in with a cameo of 19 as Yellow Penguins cruised to victory in 16.4 overs. Ali Mustafa and Huzaifa Shabbir picked up a wicket each for Red Pelicans but it was too little, too late.
