American Doors v Karachi Fighters
American Doors faced Karachi Fighters at Naya Nazimabad ground in a knockout match of the16th Challengers cup. Fighters batted first and lost their man in form and centurion of the previous match, Adnan Siddiqui early. His partner Kamran was also out after having scored just 5 runs. Taimoor with 60 off 43 and Suleman with 34 off 28 led the recovery efforts to help their team post a respectable target. A late surge by Ikhtyar Shah of 18 runs ensured Fighters ended at a competitive 164 for 9 in 20 overs. For American Doors, Yousuf Jetpur starred with the ball picking up 3 wickets while Rabish and Khalid got 2 wickets each and Hammad Sheikhani took 1 wicket.
In reply, Fighters fought well and got rid of dangerous batsman, Bilal Umer after he had scored 24 runs and also dismissed Majeed Pasta and Saad Gutta early. Rabish Ahmed with 34 fought back but it was once again Owais Pasta who was the main stay of American Doors batting line up as he has been on a repeated basis for the team. Owais got 43 runs not out off just 27 balls in an innings which included 1 boundary and 1 sixes and on the other hand Khalid Khursheed hit 13 not out off just 4 balls in an innings which included two sixes as American Doors crossed the finish line in 18.2 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. For Fighters, Tauqeer, Akhtar and Salman got a wicket each.
