ZMCC v American Doors
A thrilling contest ensued between ZMCC and American Doors at Naya Nazimabad cricket ground. The match was played as part of 16th Challengers Cup. American Doors batted first and could only manage 129 runs for loss of 8 wickets on a difficult pitch. Rabish Ahmed was top scorer with 35 runs while Khalid Kaka got 28 not out and there were small contributions of 17 by Majeed Pasta and 16 by Owais Pasta. For ZMCC, Syed Ali Nasim was the pick of the bowlers with 2 wickets for just 15 runs while Danish Moeen got 2 wickets for 25 runs. Shoiab Ibrahim, Raheel Gulzar and Muhammad Zahid also got a wicket each.
Faced with the task of chasing a low target of 130 runs, ZMCC batsmen buckled under the pressure and lost their wickets to some bad shots. Yousuf Jetpur displayed brilliance by taking 3 wickets for just 6 runs in 4 overs at an extra ordinary economy rate . Mubashir Ahmed with 42, Sohail Fazal with 36 and Shoiab Ibrahim with 14 resisted the bowling onslaught of Yousuf jetpur but they could not take their team over the finish line and ZMCC ended at 125 for 8 in 20 overs. Owais Pasta and Khalid Kaka got a wicket each but more importantly it was American Doors fielding which got them to win this close encounter as there were three run outs. The thrilling contest ended with American Doors winning by 4 runs.
