Fahad inspires Tanishq to a big win

Dawson Stars Vs Tanishq Gold CC

16th Challengers Cup

A big fixture it was and both teams wanted nothing less but a win. Dawson Stars went out to bat first and they were hoping to stay ahead of the opposition from ball one and that is what happened for them. A brilliant display of batting was on display when the openers from Dawson Stars began the innings. Ameen and Haider complimented each other and they understood each other’s game perfectly. The bowlers were hoping against hope that the batsmen will lose their concentration but that was not the case as the batting pair was focused and attentive during their stay at the middle. Haider Ali played an aggressive role in the partnership as he smashed 60 off just 49 balls with 2 illustrious sixes and 3 boundaries, it was not only his efforts that gave his side a perfect platform but his partner, Ameen contributed equally well, he was not as expressive as Haider but he made sure to keep the scoreboard ticking with his nudges and glides, he scored 43 off 42 balls. This was one great start and the icing on the cake would have been the contribution from the middle order but somehow Dawson Stars managed to ruin the stage as their middle order was exposed by some extra ordinary and inspirational bowling lead by Hafiz who picked up 2 wickets. And what was looking like a big first innings score ended at just a modest 145.

Tanishq Gold had the momentum with them going in the second innings but they were off to a poor start losing both the openers quite early in the run chase. It was that time when the man of the game stepped into the arena and lit up the ground with his blistering knock. Fahad Jabbar never gets tired of playing innings like these and again he proved why he is a man to rely upon. He single handedly won his side the game. He was in menacing form and scored more than 50 percent of team’s total runs. Fahad smashed 97 off just 65 balls with 13 classy boundaries and one mighty six. He inspired him team and contributed heavily towards the win. His efforts meant that his side got over the line in just 17.4 overs.
