Super Daddy Cricket Club Vs Southend Youth
Friendly Fixture
Super Daddy batted first and were off to a bizarre start losing quick wickets at the top. This start created panic among their group but they kept believing in themselves and formed a good partnership after early losses. Rehan Shaikh scored 36 balls 38 runs whereas Shahzad Jumani scored 18 ball 27 runs. The duo lifted the spirits of the team but unfortunately could not bat through. After their dismissal, Adeel Mansha and Yasser Mufti came in and took advantage of the set platform and smashed the bowlers to every corner of the ground. Adeel scored an inspiring 41 off 29 balls whereas Yasser Mufti scored 29 off 17 balls. This helped Super Daddy to post a big score of 163 after a slow start.
Momentum was with Super Daddy as they had a perfect end to their innings, but Southend Youth were up for the challenge and their openers provided them with good opening stand, Afnan and Ahmer scored 25 and 11 respectively but after them Southend lost wickets in a heap. Southend kep on losing wickets and the game was slipping away from them but there was one man who stood tall and took all the responsibility, Rafay Khalil, brought his side back in the contest from nowhere and kept on fighting. He was fighting a lone battle as no one gave him support, he smashed 86 off just 58 balls and this effort was not enough for his side as they fell short by 17 runs and could only manage to score 146 runs.
