Extras Vs IAP
KK Champions Trophy
The 2nd match of the KK Champions Trophy went underway on a bright sunny day, here at the New Navy Cricket Ground, where Extras and IAP went head to head and battled for ultimate glory. Extras batted first against IAP and were off to a decent start. Both openers, Hassan Naqvi and Hamza Khan contributed few runs with the bat before losing their wickets. The batsman who came in at number three was in absolute top form. Daniyal Ali schooled the opposition scoring a magnificent 150 runs, smashing 11 massive sixes and 6 boundaries. It was an amazing knock until Saeed was finally able take him down, he got 2 wickets to his name. Bilal Hayat added to the massive score line with a valuable contribution of 61 runs propelling Extras to set an unbelievable target of 260 runs in 20 overs.
IAP knew from the start that this was not going to be an easy chase for them, and they will have to give their best in order to succeed. They had a storm coming their way. Umer Ishtiaq gave a superb start to his team with his amazing knock of 57 runs, and could’ve done even more, if it hadn’t been for Huzaifa and Muhammad Ali who demolished the top and the middle batting order with their brutal bowling attack, picking up 2 wickets each. Ahmed Nawaz contributed to the chase with his score of 24 runs, followed by Saeed who scored 34 runs. The bowlers did a spectacular job in restricting the opponents from chasing the target and dismissed 9 batsmen. Raza Zaidi also struck with the ball, picking up 2 wickets. Scoreboard pressure proved to be too much for IAP and they were eventually limited to 156 runs in 20 overs.
Extras won by 104 runs.
