Shola batted first and were off to a poor start losing wickets at the top quite cheaply and early. This pushed them on the backfoot and they began to rebuild the innings on the back of Tayyab and Faisal Taimoor who scored 25 and 17 respectively, it was not the quickest partnership but it was the need of the hour for Shola as they were in deep hole. Once they were dismissed, in came Baber Qaiser who showcased his talent and skills quite perfectly. Baber smashed the bowlers to every part of the ground and scored a brilliant 65 off just 36 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes, it was a much-needed innings in the context of the game, he was supported by Mansoor Aslam who scored 21 off 20 balls. On the other hand, the bowlers also did a pretty decent job, Asif picked up 2 wickets where as his partners bowled well and economically throughout the match. In the end, Shola ended on a modest 148.
The chase was not big enough considering the firepower of Viper United. And even though they lost their two key wickets quite early in the chase they never looked troubled. Mubashir Fayyaz stood up in this big match and took responsibility and proved his worth. He scored a brilliant 60 off just 41 balls with 6 fours and 1 six. He was partnered by Ibrahim Tahir who smashed 23 off 19 balls with 3 boundaries. The bowling was below par from Shola bowlers, they conceded as many as 22 extras in the innings which included 13 wides. They were not at their best and it proved to be costly for them as Viper United thrashed them and comfortably chased the target down in just 153 overs.
