Samba Bank batted first and were off to a great start. Their openers, Tahir and Farooq Siraj were in great touch and they batted well for the early parts of the innings. Both were in top form and they were putting pressure on the bowlers, Tahir scored 27 off 19 balls with 5 fours whereas Farooq Siraj scored 22 off 11 balls with 3 fours and a six. After the early hitting, Samba Bank innings took a nose dive as their middle order crumbled under pressure. The bowling side came back strongly and picked up wickets in a heap. Adil was outstanding with the ball as he picked up 3 for just 14 in his 4 overs. Sayyam contributed with 2 wickets and bowled economically as he gave away just 19 runs. In the end, Samba scored a modest 109.
The target was not the huge one for Meezan, but their start was not the ideal one. They lost quick wickets at the top but Javed secured one end and played a quick cameo of 27 from just 16 balls with 5 fours. Even though, Samba Bank bowled with all their heart in initial phases and picked up cheap wickets but with so little target they needed to be at their best all the time. Meezan Bank was aware of it and they knew that one little partnership can win them the game, and so after losing 7 wickets, Waseem Hanif and Adil batted with purpose and added some crucial runs. Waseem scored 29 off 17 balls whereas Adil scored 13. They both remained unbeaten till the end and made sure to take their side over the line.
