Aces v Karachi Kids Cricket Club
Aces batted first and struggled with the bat throughout the innings. After having lost opener Adnan for just 7 runs, things did not get any easier for their side. They lost wickets in regular intervals with none of their batsmen significantly contributing runs. Arif and Ehtisham were the two key batsmen for their side scoring 34 and 24 runs respectively. The team was reeling at one stage before a late surge by Hasnain (25) and Afaq (15) which helped propel their team's total to a respectable 156 runs in 20 overs. Karachi Kids bowlers did well to limit the opposition with Major Zulfiqar leading the attack, picking up 2 wickets. There were also two brilliant run outs that stumped the opposition.
Karachi Kids were off to a decent start in their chase. After opener Ali Adnan was dismissed for 13 runs, Ali Abbas and Shameem Alam contributed cameos in their twenties, showing promise in their chase. The duo were run out and thus began the implosion. Aces bowlers did well to maintain the pressure throughout but it was the poor running between the wickets that caused real damage to the side. There were a total of 5 run outs with Karachi Kids unable to recover at any stage. None of the remaining batsmen were able to chase down the target. Karachi Kids only managed to score 109 runs in 20 overs.
Aces won by 47 runs.
