Benitoz v Team Falcon
A thrilling contest took place between Benitoz and Falcons as part of the 7th Residence cup match at SKBZ Cricket ground. Falcons batted first and were off to a terrific start as Waqar Zubair and Jehangir Khan got a 55 run partnership. Jehangir got 44 off 29 balls and despite the early loss of two more wickets, Waqar Zubair with 67 and M. Akmal with 33 continued to score runs at a good pace. Falcons ended at 176 for 7 in 20 overs and for Benitoz, Rehan and Qari Bilal got 2 wickets each while Asad, Waqas and Sumail got a wicket each. Team Falcon set a target of 174 runs in 20 overs.
The Benitoz reply was expected to be a good one given their strong batting line up. However, Daniyal with 21 runs and Tabish with 13 runs were out early and so was Irfan who only got 8 runs. It was Sumail Aziz who stepped up to the occasion and managed a recovery effort with 64 runs off just 39 balls which included four boundaries and four sixes. Ahmed Feroz with 18 and Waqas with 15 runs tried to take the team over the line but fell short by just 2 runs as their team ended at 172 for 7 in 20 overs. For Falcons, Huzaifa got 3 wickets while Sumair, Waqar and Akasha got a wicket each.
