Southend Stallions v Benitoz
A low scoring thriller took place between South End Stallions and Benitoz at South End club. Stallions batted first and kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were all out for just 111 runs. Asim Jah was highest scorer for his side with 20 runs while Foz and Sarfaraz got 16 runs each. For Benitoz, Usman Yunus Ghani in his debut match for Benitoz was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets for just 8 runs while Umer Chawla got 3 wickets for 23 runs, Asadullah got 2 wickets and Bilal got 1 wicket.
It was expected that Benitoz would chase down the total comfortably given their strong batting line up. However, Bilal Mehuddin produced the best spell of his career by taking 5 wickets for just 8 runs which rattled the Benitoz strategy as their top order batsmen were all out cheaply. Saad Ahmed with 54 runs tried to undertake a recovery effort but in vain as he did not get support from the other end as only two batsmen reached double figures as Umer Chawla and Israr ul haq got 10 runs each. Foz e Azeem and Mukhtar got 2 wickets each while Sarfaraz got 1 wicket. Benitoz were all out for 105 runs in this low scoring thrilling contest.
