Sheikh CC v Steel XI
Sheikh CC batted first and struggled throughout their innings. None of the batsmen were able to score runs effectively or keep their wickets intact. Outdone by Steel XI bowlers, openers Sajjad Ali and Rizwan Shahid were the most notable contributors for their side with twin knocks of 16 runs each. Ali Mazhar, Tahir Farooq and Zohaib Sikander ripped through the line up, picking up 2 wickets each. Shahzaib and Osama also chipped in taking a wicket each. Sheikh CC batsmen were completely helpless against the potent bowling attack and were limited to 106 for 9 in 20 overs.
Steel XI in response were off to a strong start with their top orders performing well. Abdullah Tahir, Shoaib Nasir and Tahir Farooq scored 20, 14 and 31 runs respectively to keep the scoreboard ticking. Steel XI batting line up then collapsed and they lost 5 quick wickets before a late surge of 19 runs by Rizwan Khalid helped them get over the line. Sheikh CC bowlers did well to limit the opposition with Yasir Jamil starring picking up 4 key wickets. Steel XI chased down the target in 19.1 overs.
