Bank Islami batted first and even after losing Shafqat quite early for just 1, they recovered well on the backs of Ahmer and Usman. Ahmer Farooqui scored 21 off just 17 balls whereas Usman Farhat scored a brilliant 55 off just 44 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes. After their dismissal, Nadir Ansari and Rashid Hussain propelled the score forward and scored 32 and 31 respectively. It was a much-needed partnership. The stage was set for the lower middle order to come and dictate terms and that role was filled in by Wasim Ali who scored 23 off just 11 balls. Bowlers struggled throughout, the highest wicket taker was Arsalan Salim who picked up 3 wickets but he went for plenty of runs in his 4 overs spell. In the end, Bank Islami scored 170 in their first innings.
Nazeer Hussain Gymkhana were in full hopes of chasing the total down as they have a strong batting lineup and they have proven this time and again. But this time, they were outplayed by the quality bowling from Bank Islami. Khurram Iqbal was the most impressive bowler as he picked up 3 wickets for just 7 whereas Abdul Majid Shah and Usman Farhat picked up 2 each. It required some special effort to outplay one of the strongest team like Nazeer Hussain Gymkhana and Bank Islami did that and they won comprehensively by 95 runs as Nazeer Hussain Gymkhana could only manage to score 75.
