Gigi Gladiators v TNN Titans
The much hyped match between the top teams of the 2nd ACM Gold t20 Night League tournament turned out to be a one sided affair and did not live up to expectations. Gigi won the toss and decided to field first and TNN Titans openers’ Yasir and Faizan were out early after scoring 10 and 13 runs only. Bilal Omer batting at the one down slot continued his good form as he scored another valuable half century and scored 53 runs off 35 balls while Rabish Ahmed got 41 runs off 22 balls. Their dismissal resulted in the entry of Kamran Butt who hit an extraordinary 64 runs off just 32 balls at a strike rate of 200% and his innings included 4 boundaries and 5 sixes. The late inning blitz by ensured that Titans ended at 209 for 4 in 20 overs. For Gladiators, Rafay took 2 wickets and Hammad and Danial got a wicket each.
In reply, Gladiators lost their aggressive opener Adeel Khan for just 12 runs and Adnan Salim fell after scoring just 2 runs. Fahad Jabbar with 29 runs and Atif Ahmed with 45 runs put up some resistance but the heavyweights in the Gladiators batting line up all succumbed to some excellent bowling by the Titans bowlers. Gladiators were all out after having scored just 122 runs. For Titans, Kamran, Hunain, Rabish and Idrees took 2 wickets each while Owais Pasta got a wicket and there was one run out.
TNN Titans won by 87 runs.
