Southend Kings batted first and were off to a poor start as they lost their openers quite early in the match. Bilal Buksh and Ali Ahmed then got together and formed a much-needed partnership. Bilal scored 38 off 21 balls whereas Ali scored 23 off 25. After their dismissal, Ali Sarwar propelled the score forward, though wickets fell at the other end but Ali Sarwar did not lose his concentration and scored a vital 61 off just 29 balls. Sajid Ali was the pick of the bowler with 4 wickets whereas Mohsin and Asif picked up 2 each. In the end, Kings managed to score 159 in their 20 overs.
In response, Southend Panthers were off to a decent start. Mohsin Lakho and Taimoor Khuwaja eased some nerves with a very good opening partnership. The openers gave an early advantage to the batting side, Mohsin scored 33 off 30 balls whereas Taimoor scored 33 off 47 balls. After the openers were sent back to the pavilion, Asad and Fahad made sure to take their side to a comfortable victory without any more hiccups, they contributed with 33 and 17 respectively. The target was chased down in 18.2 overs.
