ICT v American Doors
The all important semi final of the 16th Challengers Cup was held at Naya Nazimabad ground between ICT and American Doors. ICT batted first and lost run machine Adeel Khan early after he had hit two sixes in his innings of 12 runs but Taqi Azad was in sublime form as he got 64 runs off 41 balls and was assisted by Talha Ahmedani who scored 32 runs off just 25 balls. A series of quick knocks followed as Ali Iqbal hit 39 off 21, Ibad Khan smashed 22 off 16 and Hunain Usman got 14 off 6 as ICT ended at 205 for 5 in 20 overs. For American Doors, Idrees picked up 3 wickets while Khalid and Hammad took a wicket each.
The reply from American Doors was disastrous as they lost their main batsman Bilal Omer without any runs on the board and Hammad followed suit after having scored 2 runs. Rabish with 31, Khalid with 29 and Idrees with 15 runs put up some resistance but American Doors could not cope with the brilliance of ICT's bowling and they were all out for just 115 runs. Shahzaib and Rafay were the key wicket takers with 3 scalps each while Talha and Hunain took 2 wickets each.
ICT won by 90 runs and now play Benitoz Panthers in the final of the 16th challenger’s cup
