Karachi Stallions v Karachi Patriots
Stallions, the defending champions played against Karachi Patriots in the semi final of the 7th Residence cup. Patriots won the toss and batted first and were off to a good start of 40 runs in 4 overs by Faisal Butt and Fahad Jabbar. Faisal was out after having scored 38 runs and Fahad was out after having scored 33 runs. After that, only Atif Ahmed with 18 runs reached double figures and none of the batsmen who came in later were able to contribute effectively as Patriots were all out for 133 runs. For Stallions, Hassan was the pick of the bowlers with 4 wickets while Saad Dawood took 3 wickets and Asad and Zeeshan picked up a wicket each and there was 1 run out.
In reply, Stallions lost Adnan Salim after he had scored 1 and Samad Ghani after he had scored only 7 runs. However, Muhammad Shahzad Anwar Arain carried off from where he had left in the quarter final vs Hawks and scored a blistering 90 runs off 45 balls that included 3 boundaries and 9 sixes at a strike rate of 200%. His knock enabled Stallions to win comfortably and qualify for the finals vs Eagles Cricket Club. For Patriots, Owais Pasta took 2 wickets and Rizwan Merchant got 1 wicket.
Stallions won by 7 wickets and are through to the final.
